Extending south and east from Fort William towards Glen Coe and Rannoch Moor, the Central Highlands gathers together a huge collection of high land including Britain’s highest mountain Ben Nevis at 1,344m above sea level. The area is festooned with historical glens, ancient lochs, open moorland and the infamous highland midge.
