Located to the east of the Brecon Beacons National Park, The Black Mountains / Y Mynyddoedd Duon have a different feel to the central Brecon Beacons with limestone hills, steep sided valleys and conifer plantations. The area shares its border with England in the east and is divided from rest of the Brecon Beacons by the Usk Valley.
